Plano man facing DUI after vehicle hits utility pole

Kendall County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Vance Schmidt, 26, of the 2000 block of Pauline Place, Plano, at 4:14 a.m. June 9 while responding to a single vehicle crash on Galena Road and Rock Creek Road in Little Rock Township.

Police said Schmidt's vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole.

Schmidt was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and cited for failure to reduce speed, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving on an expired driver's license, according to police.

Schmidt was transported to the County Jail in Yorkville where he later posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.
