An Ottawa man was charged with aggravated battery after a stabbing incident Sunday.

Julian A. Hamill, 22, Ottawa, was arrested Monday on a complaint of aggravated battery.

He was taken to the La Salle County Jail and released after posting bond.

Ottawa police officers responded at 9:45 p.m. Sunday to the 1100 block of White Lane for a report of a disturbance and found an individual on the roadway who had been stabbed multiple times. Hamill and the stabbing victim were taken to OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa by ambulance.

Police conducted an investigation of the scene and arrested Hamill for aggravated battery.

Hamill has a court date set 9 a.m. Thursday, June 20. He appeared in court Monday and he said he will hire a private attorney.
