How did my feet get so far away
To don shoes and socks is a great affray!
It seems like only yesterday
I could climb the stairs with ease
In the blink of an eye with nary a wheeze!
A pedicure was a wonderful treat
It always made for Happy Feet!
Now to the foot Dr. I must go
Where she will trim each little toe!
My shoes look like the old lady I am
White, navy or black or tan!
No pretty sandals or heels so high
I look at them and emit a sigh!
But tho my feet are far away
Lord willing, they carry me thru the day
To do the things I have to do
And not depend on you or you!
