Dennis E. Shaffer

CHICAGO – Dennis E. Shaffer, of Chicago, died on his 60th birthday on April 14, 2019. Dennis was born in Dixon, the son of Don and June (Baker) Shaffer.

Dennis spent his last day on Earth celebrating with his sisters, Diane and Nancy (Tom); nieces, Jessica (Rueben) and June (Zechariah); great nephews and nieces, Tanner, Ayden, Stella, Axl, and Eva; and his beloved Charlie.

His loved ones who missed the final celebration include: Doug Farley; nephew, Ben (Brandy); niece, Marti (Dean); and great-nephews and niece, Xavier, Liam, Donald, and Alex. He also leaves behind his special friends, Mike, Michael, and William, who lovingly supported Dennis during his fight with ALS.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the Dixon Church of the Brethren, 215 N. Court, Dixon, Illinois, 61021.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Dennis to the ALS Association, Greater Chicago Chapter, 220 W. Huron Street, Suite 4003, Chicago, IL 60654.
