The Pink Chihuahua in Ottawa has officially closed.

The business, located at 700 La Salle St., announced the closure on its Facebook page Tuesday morning.

"Over the past two and a half years we have experienced problems with the roof in our location. This has now spread to other areas of the restaurant and with much thought and consideration and sadness we find it necessary to close our doors," the business said on Facebook.

They thanked the staff and customers that had visited the restaurant over its six-year life in both Ottawa and La Salle.

"Your kind words and patronage were very appreciated. We were a diverse menu...not everyone understood the International Street Food concept, but thank you if you gave us a try. The more you traveled the more you understood," the business said.

The Pink Chihuahua opened in March 2017 in Ottawa after relocating from 633 First St., La Salle. Prior to The Pink Chihuahua, the building was the home to The Bee Hive Restaurant for 31 years.
