Rachel Luecht took over as owner of CrossFit Huntley, 10643 Wolf Drive, on Friday.

Luecht is a lifelong resident of the Huntley area who has been a member of CrossFit Huntley along with her family since it opened nearly a decade ago.

Luecht, a Huntley High School graduate, credits CrossFit Huntley for aiding her throughout her high school athletic career, which included being a four-year starter on the varsity soccer team as well as being on the basketball team that went to the IHSA state tournament.

She went on to compete as a college athlete at the University of Illinois-Chicago, where she graduated with a degree in business. Luecht holds a Level 1 certification as a CrossFit trainer.

“CrossFit Huntley has done a great job of building relationships within the community,” she said. “We have worked with local families, youth groups, high school sports programs, first responders and travel sports teams. We also have believed in giving back to the community and have participated in numerous events. CrossFit is more than just working out or competing. It is a way of life. It is about the relationships and the culture that you build.”

“When I decided that I wanted to own a CrossFit gym, I knew CrossFit Huntley was the best fit for me,” Luecht said. “I am very excited about this opportunity to build upon CrossFit Huntley’s success and community involvement. With our incredible team of coaches, we look forward to helping individuals of all ages achieve their personal fitness and health goals.”
