Drifting snow has led to the closure of Huntley-Dundee Road from Kreutzer Road east, police said,
Gilberts Police Department has closed the road and warn drivers to avoid the area, according to a Nixle alert sent around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
The National Weather service has issued a winter weather advisory for Lake and McHenry counties Tuesday. The winter weather advisory remains in effect until 3 a.m. Wednesday.
Heavy wind and snow is expected to continue into the night, according to the service.
