DUI arrest
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Noel Hornsberry, 55, of the 1700 block of Presley Circle, Plainfield, after stopping his vehicle on Route 71 at East Washington Street in Oswego Feb. 19 at 12:17 a.m. Police said Hornsberry was charged with driving under the influence and transported to the Kendall County Jail, where he posted bond and was released pending court proceedings.
Parked car struck
Sheriff’s deputies took a report of a hit-and-run crash in the 0-20 block of West Anchor Drive in Oswego Township on Feb. 16. Police said a Nissan Versa was struck by an unknown vehicle at 11:30 p.m. Feb. 15. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 630-553-7500.
Trespass arrest
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Johnny Maldonado, 21, of the 1300 block of Chestnut Lane, Yorkville, on Feb. 17 in the 0-50 block of Timber View Lane, Yorkville, on a charge of criminal trespass to residence. He was transported to the Kendall County Jail pending court proceedings.
Suspicious noise leads to arrest
Responding to a report of a suspicious noise Feb. 18 in the 9000 block of Route 34 in Bristol Township, sheriff’s deputies arrested a suspect on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
ID theft reported
Sheriff’s deputies took a report of an identity theft Feb. 18 in the 100 block of Rickard Drive in Oswego. Police said someone attempted to use the victim’s information to withdraw money from an out-of-state bank. No money was taken, according to police.
One hurt in rollover crash
Little Rock Fox Fire Protection District paramedics treated a juvenile for injuries at the scene of a single vehicle crash on Frazier Road west of Sandy Bluff Road in Little Rock Township at 7:41 a.m., Feb. 14, according to the County Sheriff’s office. Police said the juvenile was driving a 1998 Ford Ranger east on Frazier Road when it went out of control and turned onto the driver’s side and struck a guardrail. The juvenile was later released to their mother.
Take fraud report
Sheriff’s deputies took a fraud report at a residence in the 0-99 block of Circle Drive West in Boulder Hill at 9:01 a.m. Feb. 14. Police said an unknown person called the victim and asked the victim to pay the caller in gift cards to fix a problem that did not exist.
ID theft reported
Sheriff’s deputies took an identity theft report from a resident of the 300 block of Grove Street in Newark at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 14. Police said the victim told deputies that someone had gained access into the victim’s computer. No monetary loss was reported.
No valid license,
failure to yield accident
Sheriff’s deputies cited Gina M. Jonassen, 37, of Newark for no valid driver’s license and failure to yield at an intersection after responding to a traffic accident with injuries at the intersection of Route 71 and South Ottawa Street in Newark at 4:52 p.m. Feb. 12. Jonassen was transported by Newark Fire Protection District emergency medical services to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other driver suffered no injuries.
Computer fraud report
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of computer fraud in the 3000 block of Eldamain Road, in unincorporated Plano, at 7:30 a.m. Feb. 11. The victim reported that he had been scammed out of $500 through an email. Deputies reported there are no suspects in the case.
Crash under investigation
Sheriff’s deputies took a report of a vehicle leaving the scene of a property damage crash on Ridge Road at Interstate 80 in Seward Township at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 12. Police said the crash involved three vehicles and their investigation is continuing.
