La Salle County

Jeffery Hacker, 55, of Somonauk, was arrested at about 9 p.m. Saturday on complaints of DUI, improper lane usage and no insurance after deputies responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch at East 2750th Road and Holiday Drive in Somonauk. He was issued a notice to appear.

Jake Negray, 28, of Streator, was arrested at about 10:50 p.m. Friday at his residence on a failure to appear warrant on a charge of forgery. Negray was taken to the La Salle County Jail.

Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Route 251 and North 33rd Road in Dimmick Township. Gianna Antie, 24, of Dalzell, was traveling north on 251 and attempted to pass a northbound vehicle driven by Deborah Bodmer, 52, of Mendota. Antie lost control of her vehicle due to road conditions and struck Bodmer's vehicle. Both drivers were treated and released by Peru emergency personnel. Antie was cited on a complaint of driving too fast for conditions.

Deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash at about 7:15 p.m. Thursday at Route 71 and East 1251st Road in South Ottawa Township. Shane Stiles, 25, of Ottawa, was traveling east on Route 71 and failed to negotiate the curve, left the road, entered the north ditch and struck several trees. Stiles fled the scene and was later identified and cited on complaints of leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and failure to report an accident. Stiles was issued a notice to appear.

Fire calls

Tonica Fire Rescue responded to a single-vehicle crash at about 5:20 p.m. Friday just south of the Tonica exit on Interstate 39. A vehicle struck a guardrail and had extensive damage. The driver was assessed by medical personnel and refused transport to a hospital. State police investigated the crash.

Streator firefighters responded twice on Friday and once Sunday to 609 N. Everett St. for what turned out to be false alarms.
