Gamma VR opened in October on Jefferson Street

A virtual reality gaming arcade that opened in October in Joliet "has people thoroughly impressed by the wonders of VR."

Gamma VR opened its doors at 2419 W. Jefferson St. toward the end of last year, according to a news release from the company. It also has a second location in Lansing, Illinois.

"Gamma VR is giving life to the city with a whole new level of gaming entertainment," the release said.

Gamma VR saw the potential of VR technology and made the move toward facilitating a state-of-the-art virtual reality gaming arcade. It has the best equipment available to ensure an ideal experience for customers to enjoy, the release said. Gamma VR’s objective is to provide a safe, family-friendly and aesthetically pleasing environment to deliver the most authentic experience in virtual reality gaming.

Gamma VR consistently updates its arcades so customers can get a premium VR experience. The arcade also has an open environment that encourages the social aspect of gaming.

In its library, there are 200-plus VR games to choose from, providing customers with new experiences each time they come.

Average rates are $15 for 30-minute play and $25 for 60 minutes, according to its website.

Gamma VR also takes pride in its customer service, the release said. In its few months of being in business, both Gamma VR locations have racked up 120-plus five-star reviews, reportedly making it the leading VR arcade in the state.

Along with that, Gamma VR works with an educational company that focuses on building an educational curriculum for students to learn in virtual reality.

"Virtual reality has many more potentials that are far from gaming, and Gamma VR is interested in facilitating that potential full force," the release said.

Since 2018, Gamma VR has been committed to administering the best immersive experience in VR that is out there, according to the release. Its mission is to set the culture of VR.
