THE BUZZ: New pizza place coming to Ottawa

Image 1 of 5

"Authentic pizza" will be the name of the game at Ottawa's latest restaurant opening in spring.

Tim Cottingim has been working on the space at 215 W. Jefferson St. which included adding a wood fire oven on Saturday. "Iniga" is set to open in March.

Cottingim has always been interested in opening a restaurant and became interested in Neopolitan pizza making. The style is easy to digest and uses authentic ingredients.

He was trained to create the pizzas in Los Angeles and plans to receive an official certification from Associazione Vera Pizza Napoletana based in Naples, Italy.

Work is continuing at the site to transform the space into a traditional Italian-style bistro with some modern flair with an opening expected in a couple of months.

Jardines expands hours

Jardines Mexican Restaurant has expanded its hours after reopening with a limited menu and hours in December.

Manager Ansit Martinez confirmed the business, 711 La Salle St., expanded its hours and will now be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The expansion comes as a result of the former Rock River Cafe restaurant closing, which originally opened in November and later shared the same location with Jardines, as well as customer demand for additional hours around noon.
