South Elgin police search for robbery suspect

SOUTH ELGIN- Police are searching for a suspect who robbed the Jewel Osco on Randall Road in South Elgin at 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 11.

According to a news release from the South Elgin Police Department, the offender is described as an African American male, 5’8” to 5’10”, medium build, black hair, brown eyes, and a beard. The subject was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, black jacket, blue shirt and blue jeans as he fled the store. The man waited in line as if he was purchasing an item and when the cash register opened he reached in and took an undisclosed amount of cash.

The subject fled the store and got into a black station wagon believed to be a Volvo with unknown license plate. The suspect was last seen heading toward Gyorr Avenue.
