Previous elected offices held

Member of DuPage County Board of Commissioners 2nd District 2012-present

Mayor, City of Elmhurst, Illinois 2009-2012

Why are you the best candidate for this office?

I’m the only candidate with proven Bipartisan Leadership, the only candidate to author and pass 6 state laws enhancing healthcare access and public safety to enhance the quality of life for our residents, the only candidate with executive experience both serving as a Mayor of a major City and CEO & Founder of a thriving DuPage County Company.  I’m also the only candidate to provide Bipartisan leadership of 2 FEMA events (2010 & 2013) bring home hundreds of millions of Federal, State & County dollars to the region to help our residents and businesses rebuild. 1 billion in economic development as Mayor of Elmhurst including the rebuilding of Elmhurst/Edwards Hospital employing over 4 thousand people.  My opponents talk about what they are going to do and I’m the only candidate with a record of actually making things happen.

What issues specific to your district would you like to see addressed by the DuPage County Board?

Protect the Quality of Life for Residents of the 2nd District
Keep DuPage County residents Safe by providing well-staffed and highy-trained first responders
Continue fighting the War on Heroin and Opioids that is killing our children
Be an advocate for Safe and Quality Schools
Care for our Senior Citizens and most Vulnerable People
Lower Taxes, Economic Development, & Investment in our Future
Lessen the Tax Burden on our residents by Stimulating Sales Tax-Producing Businesses
Recruit businesses that will be a good fit for our communities
Create Quality and reliable Jobs for our residents
Invest in Vital infrastructure enhancing Stormwater Management, Roads, and Bridges

Where do you stand on consolidation efforts in DuPage County? What additional steps – if any – should be taken?

I think intergovernmental corporation, including shared services is essential to illuminate duplication and waste. When deemed a Win/Win and not a political power grab, consolidation is something I have supported especially dated and unneeded levels of government including lighting districts, paper fire districts, and others looked at on a case by case basis.
