BREAKING: Police arrest suspect in verbal threat case at Thompson Jr. High

Investigation into email threat case at school continuing

Oswego police have arrested a suspect in a case in which a Thompson Junior High School student made verbal threats to harm a school administrator.

Police said the incidents occurred at the school on Boulder Hill Pass in the village Thursday, Oct. 11, based on witness accounts.

With the assistance of Oswego School District 308 officials, police said they identified a 13 year-old male student from Montgomery as the suspect. Police said they took the suspect into custody at approximately 1:40 p.m. Friday.

The Kendall County State's Attorney's Office has charged the student with disorderly conduct, a felony, and he was taken to the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center in St. Charles pending court proceedings.

Police also reported they are continuing their investigation into another incident that occurred Thursday morning, Oct. 11 at the school in which a threatening email was received by administrators.

Police are urging anyone with information on any of these incidents or other suspicious circumstances to call them at 630-551-7300 or Kendall Crime Stoppers at 630-553-5999. Crime Stoppers, which accepts anonymous tips, offers rewards of up to $1,000 for information that leads to arrests.
