John ‘Jack’ Yepsen

TISKILWA — John “Jack” R. Yepsen, 94, of Tiskilwa passed away Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018, in his home.

John was born Oct. 22, 1923, in Princeton to Andrew and Sadie (Warkins) Yepsen. He married Marian Elizabeth Pozzi on Nov. 12, 1949, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Cherry.

He had served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Italy. He had worked for Strunk Bros. Construction, and had served as a trustee for the village of Tiskilwa. He belonged to Laborers International Union Local 150.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tiskilwa.

He is survived by his children, Daniel (Joanne) Yepsen of Tiskilwa, Cheryl (Sam) Pagoria of Spring Valley, Ron (Sheila) Yepsen of Sheffield and Dave (Lori) Yepsen of Princeton; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian Yepsen, on Dec. 29, 2015; two sons; three sisters; and eight brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton with Father Daniel Gifford and Deacon John Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Tiskilwa with military honors by the Princeton Veterans Memorial Group. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of Mass Monday in the church.

Arrangements are through the Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home in Princeton.
