Shirley M. Redman

1938-2018

STREATOR — Shirley Mae Redman, 80, of Streator, passed away Thursday, June 28, at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Streator.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, at Solon-Telford Funeral Home. Monsignor Philip Halfacre will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Solon-Telford Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be Tony Muscato and Dennis Bakalar. Honorary pallbearers will be John Redman and Robert Redman.

Born Feb. 14, 1938, in Streator, she was the daughter of Stephen and Agnes (Wargo) Cook. She married James D. Redman on May 4, 1957. He preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 2006.

She is survived by daughters, Kim (Tony) Muscato, of Streator, and Pattie (Dennis Bakalar) McGuire, of Streator; and a granddaughter, Alyssa Rose Muscato.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Diane Cook; and a special friend, Robert “Bud” Anselme.

Born and raised in Streator, she attended St. Mary’s Grade School and Streator High School.

She worked for Paris Garter Factory, Owens-Illinois Glass and Thatcher’s Glass and Anchor Glass.

Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Alyssa, and playing cards.
