Taste of Joliet attendance totals 46,000

Taste of Joliet drew 46,000 people last weekend, boosted by big turnouts on two days but dampened by a cold, rainy Friday.

“Saturday was a perfect day. We had 25,800 on Saturday,” Joliet Park District Deputy Director Brad Staab said.

Friday attendance, however, was only in the 10,000 range, which Staab said “was about half of what we normally get.”

Fridays and Saturdays typically are the two biggest days of Taste of Joliet as the Park District lines up top-name rock acts for Fridays and nationally known country music performers for Saturdays.

Sunday, usually the slowest day of Taste, drew about 9,000, which Staab said was high attendance for a Sunday. The Park District staged Latin music performers Sunday, which Staab said proved popular.
