Bristol man sentenced to 16 years in state prison for cocaine delivery

A Kendall County judge has sentenced a Bristol man to 16 years in state prison for unlawful delivery of cocaine.

Kendall County State's Attorney Eric Weis announced this week that Judge Robert Pilmer sentenced Nathan Russell, 42, of the 7000 block of Galena Road, Bristol, to 16 years in prison for unlawful delivery of cocaine following Russell's guilty plea.

According to Weis, Russell was arrested following a lengthy investigation by the Kendall County Cooperative Police Assistance Team (CPAT) in 2015. Weis said that Russell delivered cocaine to an undercover officer on multiple occasions resulting in his arrest in February of 2015. The investigation also resulted in a search of Russell's home and the seizure of Russell's vehicle, Weis said.

Russell has remained in custody since his arrest in 2015, Weis said.

Weis praised the CPAT officers for their work on the case.

“Their diligent efforts and hard work continue to provide results our residents can be proud of," he said. "The efforts of CPAT help remove dangerous and illegal narcotics from our streets”

As part of his sentence, Russell will have to serve three years of mandatory supervised release after serving his prison sentence. Weis said Russell has prior felony drug convictions and other felony convictions for which he was previously sentenced to state prison.

Assistant State's Attorney Frank Gorup prosecuted the case and Russell was represented by attorney Vincent Micelli, Weis said.
