Marlowe Middle School Principal Henry Soltesz has resigned from his position to deal with personal matters, according to a statement from Huntley School District 158.

In an email sent to parents, District 158 Interim Superintendent Bradley Hawk thanked Soltesz for his leadership and wished him luck as he “steps away to deal with personal matters.”

Assistant principals Rita Castans and Jennifer Fisher will lead the school for the remainder of the year, and a search process to find a permanent replacement will begin soon, Hawk said.

Soltesz led Marlowe Middle School for the past two years, first as interim principal and then as principal.

“Over the past two years, Mr. Soltesz has led the school through some difficult challenges and has helped contribute to a positive learning environment for all students,” Hawk said in the email. “We are confident that Ms. Castans and Ms. Fisher will do a great job leading the school for the remaining weeks of school, and we will begin the search process for a permanent replacement soon.”

The school, at 9625 Haligus Road in Lake in the Hills, has an enrollment of about 1,462 and serves seventh- and eighth-graders. It is one of the district’s two middle schools.
