SPRING VALLEY — Joseph “Joe” Alan Nissen, 41, of Spring Valley passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Sheridan Shores Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.
Joe was born Nov. 28, 1976, in Spring Valley to Herman Edwin Nissen and Mary Ellen Burden Nissen. He was a graduate of Tiskilwa High School and an employee at LCN in Princeton.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing or anything related to being outdoors with his son, Zach, and his closet friends, Jimbo Erwin, Matt “Snag” Wagner and Archie Burden. He also enjoyed playing/watching football, and eating the wild game and mushrooms he hunted with his friends and son.
Joe was preceded in death by his father; his mother; two sisters, Sharon Ann and Susie Childer; and one brother, Eddie Nissen.
He is survived by his son, Zachary (Nick Vale) Nissen of Chicago; two sisters, Mary (Curt) Albrecht of Tiskilwa and Donna Yeager of Amboy; one brother, Bill (Linda) Nissen of Chicago; one sister-in-law, Debbie Nissen of Princeton; and 10 nieces, five five nephews, 13 great-nieces and nine great-nephews, with one more on the way.
A celebration of life was held for family and friends.
