Woodstock's Mommy Knows Best product makes Kardashian baby registry

WOODSTOCK – New moms are met with many challenges. Your whole life changes. Your schedule is no longer your own and you feel almost as if you’ve taken up residence in a new body. Mommy Knows Best offers products that help new moms survive this often turbulent time.

The Woodstock-based business offers lactation support products, breastfeeding supplies, skin and hair products and supplements for moms.

The idea for Mommy Knows Best was born in 2014 out of owner Tim Tierney’s experience after his wife, Jennifer, had their first child, Kaela.

“This is the third product brand I’ve developed as an entrepreneur,” Tierney said. “I saw all of the challenges my wife faced with breastfeeding and I just thought if I can find a solution to this, we might have a product that can help a lot of new moms.”

Their flagship product, the Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Lactation Cookie, also is their most popular. The cookie mix is sold in a 12-ounce. bag for $19.99.

“They are full of supplements with the main ingredient, blessed thistle, which is an herb known to boost milk supply,” said Mommy Knows Best Brand Communication Manager Amanda Hull. “Just mix with butter, water and egg, and bake them. They’re good!”

The cookie mix and all other Mommy Knows Best products are available on their website, mommyknowsbest.com, as well as on Amazon, where the mix has been labeled a “best seller.”

Hull is newer to the team, joining Mommy Knows Best in February of this year.

“I’m a mom myself and was a little concerned about finding a job since I haven’t been in an office for about five years,” Hull said. “It’s a really awesome environment. It feels like a small family.”

It was the Mommy Knows Best Soothing, Organic Nipple Cream that caught the eye of celebutante and new mommy, Khloé Kardashian. The product is featured on Kardashian's Amazon baby registry through March of 2019 at https://goo.gl/ZTTg5t.

“It’s an interesting call to get. They said a Kardashian wants your nipple cream and my first thought was, ‘Which one?’ ” Tierney said. “It was awesome because this is our first celebrity that has shown interest in our product. It’s really opened some doors.”

Mommy Knows Best since has become part of Walmart’s exclusive vendor program and recently has signed a licensing deal with Target and BuyBuy Baby.

Tierney and team currently are working on expanding their line of baked goods and introducing additional skin and hair care products and supplements.
