AP students from Romeoville and Bolingbrook treated to lunch

Advanced Placement students from the Class of 2018 from both Valley View School District High Schools gathered at Fat Ricky’s in Romeoville for lunch as the guests of the two high school principals

Jason Pascavage of Bolingbrook HS and Mr. Derek Kinder of Romeoville HS hosted the lunch event to congratulate the students on their achievements and thank them for their hard work.

Valley View Superintendent of Schools James Mitchem and Assistant Superintendent Rachel Kinder also stopped by to visit with the students.

Mitchem thanked the students for accepting the challenge of the AP classes and for bringing to reality the district’s goal of increased student participation in the AP program.

Last year the total number of AP Scholars (students earning a score of 3 out of 5 or higher on three or more tests) in Valley View School District jumped by 33 percent. The total number of individual AP exams taken by students also increased by a similar amount.

Two of the students, Nora Osmani of Romeoville High School and Brandon Walters of Bolingbrook, plan on studying engineering in college
