Sixth-grader wins spelling bee at Adams Middle School

During the Jane Addams Middle School spelling bee sixth-grader Mila Harries knew how to spell the winning word as soon as it was given to her in the eighth round.

Mila was joined by Jane Addams eighth-grade champion Danielle Vidad and seventh-grade champion Erick Murilo at the VVSD Middle School Spelling Bee on Feb. 6 at Humphrey Middle School.

The Brooks Middle School Spelling Bee went 25 rounds before eighth-grader Camille Ogunleye won. Sumaiya Idrees was the sixth grade champion and Kirena Carthans was the seventh grade champion.

Humphrey Middle School champions were sixth-grader Katie Ramirez-Quintana, seventh-grader Ben Campa and eighth-grader Cali Swinarski.
