Sixth-grader wins spelling bee at Adams Middle School

Meet the Jane Addams Middle School students who will represent their school at the VVSD Middle School Spelling Bee on Feb. 6. During the Jane Addams Middle School spelling bee sixth-grader Mila Harries knew how to spell the winning word as soon as it was given to her in the eighth round.

Mila was joined by Jane Addams eighth-grade champion Danielle Vidad and seventh-grade champion Erick Murilo at the VVSD Middle School Spelling Bee on Feb. 6 at Humphrey Middle School.

The Brooks Middle School Spelling Bee went 25 rounds before eighth-grader Camille Ogunleye won. Sumaiya Idrees was the sixth grade champion and Kirena Carthans was the seventh grade champion.

Humphrey Middle School champions were sixth-grader Katie Ramirez-Quintana, seventh-grader Ben Campa and eighth-grader Cali Swinarski.
