JOLIET – Two Joliet men were arrested in separate incidents of allegedly driving under the influence.
At close to 11 p.m. Tuesday, Joliet police were notified by a resident that there was a driver reportedly “swerving all over the roadway” while heading east on Jefferson Street, Joliet Deputy Police Chief Ed Gregory said in an email.
The officers located a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck based on a description and license plate number given out by the resident. Officers stopped the truck on Larkin Avenue and met Michael J. Papesh, 60, of the 1100 block of Westshire Drive, who allegedly appeared intoxicated, Gregory said.
Gregory said Papesh allegedly failed a field sobriety test and he was arrested for driving under the influence. He was jailed and his bond was set at $1,000 bond. He posted bail about an hour later.
On Tuesday, police officers also arrested Albaro Porras, 50, of the 200 block of North Eastern Avenue, after allegedly seeing him weave in and out of a traffic lane and stop at a green light.
Officers met with Porras, who was driving a Chevrolet Uplander. Gregory said Porras allegedly appeared intoxicated and had cans of beer open in his car.
He allegedly failed a field sobriety test and was arrested on aggravated DUI with no license and DUI. He was jailed and his bond was set at $3,000.
