CREST HILL – Police responded to a call about a bank robbery in Crest Hill on Saturday.
The call came from the NuMark Credit Union in the 2800 block of Caton Farm Road about 1 p.m., Crest Hill Police Chief Ed Clark said. By the time officers arrived at the scene, the suspect had fled, but witnesses gave them a description.
The suspect was a white man wearing a white stocking cap, a baseball hat with flaps on the side and prescription-style glasses. He looked like he was in his mid-30s with a slender face. He wore blue jogging pants, a blue winter jacket, blue gym shoes, a fanny pack and gloves. The suspect also implied he had a gun.
He left the building in a white SUV and took cash. Clark said they are not releasing the amount of money stolen at this time because the case is an open investigation.
Police processed the scene for physical evidence and were able to recover video footage of the robbery.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Crest Hill police at 815-741-5115 or Investigator Joel Steen at 815-955-7796.
