GRANVILLE — Delores J. Shevokas, 83, of Granville passed away Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley.
Delores was born April 14, 1934, in Spring Valley to Joseph and Severina “Jean” (Cavatorta) Ellena. She married Stanley Shevokas Jr. on Oct. 18, 1952, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Granville.
Delores graduated from Hopkins High School. She was a homemaker and helped her husband with the farming. She had previously worked at Hobbs and Bassick’s in Spring Valley. She was also a telephone operator for Granville and Hennepin.
Delores loved working outdoors and was a garden enthusiast. She also enjoyed going to garage sales, farm shows and various vacation spots.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley Shevokas Jr. of Granville; one son, Stanley Joseph (Patty) Shevokas III of Hennepin; one daughter, Susan (Floyd) Holocker of Granville; one brother, Joseph (Shirley) Ellena of Standard; six grandchildren, Aaron, Erica, Floyd “BJ”, Elizabeth, Amanda and Stan IV; two stepgrandchildren, Ben and Brianna; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Granville with Father Patrick DeMeulemeester officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Granville.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel in Granville.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Holocker, BJ Holocker, Russell Shevokas, Bobby Ellena, Steve Pokinghorne and Stan Shevokas IV.
Contributions may be made to Putnam County Community Center in Standard or the Standard Fire-Rescue Department.
