Nero's Pizza in Algonquin owed more than $30K in rent before closing

ALGONQUIN – A local pizza restaurant that closed unexpectedly was pushed out of its facility after being ordered to pay more than $30,000 in missed rent, court records show.

Attorneys for Samvest of Algonquin II LLC filed a complaint Aug. 25 in McHenry County court against Nero’s Pizza and Pub. The business had been given a five-day notice to leave the space earlier that month.

On Sept. 18, the restaurant, formerly at 300 Eastgate Drive, Algonquin, was ordered to pay $31,687 in rent after failing to make complete payments since Jan. 1, 2017, according to the complaint.
