One William B. Orenic Intermediate School band student and 17 Troy Middle School band and choir students made this year’s cut for the esteemed Illinois Music Educators Association’s District 1 Junior Music Festival. The honor allows the students to participate in the November festival at Lincoln-Way Central High School.
According to TMS Band Director William Goetz, being chosen is an honor and a great opportunity for the students.
Troy Middle School band members selected are Austin Brown (horn), Tyler Cardinal (trombone), Amelia Dubs(clarinet), Lauren Gans (tenor saxophone), Ellen Lundeen (horn), Alexander MacGregor (tuba), Jacob Richardson (baritone saxophone), Jenna Smith (flute), Angelina-Lillie Jones (percussion), Micah Klima (percussion) and Myles Shackelford(percussion).
William B. Orenic Intermediate School band member Noelle Klima (flute) also were selected.
TMS choir members selected are Nathaniel Aulet (baritone), Zinnia Manning (alto), Mikiya Marshall (alto), Kaitlyn Ruddy (soprano), Julien Wood (tenor) and Olivia Zolecki (soprano).
The festival will be 3 p.m. Nov. 4, the public concert at Lincoln-Way Central High School.
