Domestic battery

Yorkville police arrested Daniel Grutza, 28, of the 1600 block of Diehl Road, Naperville at 2:48 p.m. on Oct. 29 for domestic battery after officers were called to the 600 block of Redtail Court.

Arrested on DUI warrant

Yorkville police responded to a domestic violence call at 3:42 a.m. on Oct. 29 in the 1300 block of Marketplace Drive. After an investigation, police arrested Robert J. Simmons, 40, of the 21000 block of Jeffery Avenue, Sauk Village, after they discovered Simmons had a warrant for his arrest through the Illinois State Police on a previous DUI charge.

Suspended license, warrant

Yorkville police arrested Luis Sandoval-Medina, 25, of the 10 block of Schomer Lane, Plano, at 5:50 p.m. on Oct. 28 for driving with a suspended license, and arrested Sandoval-Medina's passenger, Patsy Cruz-Hernandez, for a warrant out of Kendall County, after police said they stopped Sandoval-Medina for speeding and having a headlight out.

Missing juvenile from Chicago found

Yorkville police were conducting a traffic stop at 6:53 p.m. on Oct. 28 near Route 47 and Route 34 when they identified one of the vehicle's passengers as a juvenile reported missing from Chicago. The juvenile was taken into temporary custody and later returned to his parents, police said.

Alcohol arrest after traffic stop

Yorkville police arrested George R. Torres, 19, of the 700 block of Hamilton Avenue, Aurora, for unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor and illegal transportation of alcohol following a traffic stop at 11:21 p.m. on Oct. 29 at Route 47 and Fox Street. Police said Torres was in a vehicle with four teenagers that was stopped for speeding; the driver was cited with speeding, police said.

No charges after fight

Yorkville police responded to a fight in progress at 11:22 p.m. on Oct. 28 in the 200 block of South Bridge Street. Police said when they arrived they observed no one fighting and were "met with uncooperative employees/witnesses." One victim claimed he was poked in his right eye by a woman who left prior to the police arriving. The victim refused medical attention and did not want anything done about the incident, police said.

Marijuana, warrant arrest

Yorkville police were responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle at 5:30 a.m. on Oct. 26 in the area of Sumac Drive and Twinleaf Trail when they observed a Ford Taurus parked on the side of the road with 3 men inside. After conducting a search, police cited Ryan Williams, 19, of the 2000 block of Monarchos Lane, Montgomery, for possession of drug paraphernalia, and cited a passenger, Daniel Ruiz, 19, of the 800 block of Hampton Lane, Yorkville, for possession of cannabis. Police also discovered that Ruiz was wanted on a warrant and he was arrested.

LaSalle County warrant

Yorkville police arrested Amy J. Voss, 31, of the 100 block of East Fox Street, Yorkville, at 10:55 p.m. on Oct. 30 after officers learned she had a warrant for her arrest for failure to appear in court for a shoplifting charge in LaSalle County.

Arson to portable toilet

Yorkville police and Bristol-Kendall firefighters responded at 10:40 p.m. on Oct. 27 to the 1700 block of John Street for a portable restroom on fire. The fire was put out and no injuries occurred, police said. Police have called the incident an arson.

Retail theft

Yorkville police said they responded to a store in the 1900 block of Marketview Drive at 3:35 p.m. on Oct. 29 for a retail theft in progress. The two men left the area before police arrived, police said. Police were told that the men bought items and then stole one cigarette lighter, worth $1.72, off the counter. The incident is under investigation.
