WOODSTOCK – Two McHenry County Sheriff's Office vehicles were involved in two separate crashes Wednesday morning in Woodstock, police and fire officials said.
The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to a crash at 6:26 a.m. at Route 14 and Lake Avenue in Woodstock, and another at 6:31 a.m. at Route 47 and Route 120 in Woodstock, Fire Capt. Karen Bush said. Each crash involved two vehicles.
A sheriff's vehicle turning left off of Lake Avenue to eastbound Route 14 was struck by another vehicle traveling west on Route 14, Woodstock Police Chief John Lieb said.
The driver ran a red light and was arrested at the scene for driving with a suspended license. Lieb said he did not know the identity of the driver, and he did not know who was sent to the hospital from the first crash.
Bush said one person from each collision was taken to a local hospital, and both suffered minor injuries.
Lieb said he expected to have more information Tuesday afternoon.
While deputies were responding to provide aid, a car pulled in front of another sheriff's vehicle, causing a crash at Route 47 and Route 120. The driver of the vehicle was taken to Centegra Hospital – McHenry.
Lieb said the crashes still are under investigation.
