WILMINGTON – The largest planned industrial park in the Chicago market, RidgePort Logistics Center, will add about 250 jobs with its new 810,900-square-foot distribution building.
Elion Partners and Alston Construction teamed up for what is being referred to as "Building Charlie," which is expandable to 1 million square feet and likely to be complete in December.
The future tenant will join others such as Lineage, Post Consumer Brands, Batory Foods, Michelin, World Foods Processing and a 1.5 million-square-foot build-to-suit building for an undisclosed Fortune 500 company.
“With the projected 250 full-time employees added to the park’s current 750 employees, we are estimated to reach 5,256 employees upon full build-out,” said Michael Stellino, managing director of development at Elion Partners.
Additional amenities planned for the park include commercial retail and ancillary services. RidgePort Logistics Center has an on-site Petro Travel Plaza complete with two restaurants and a fuel and truck maintenance station.
The 2,500-acre BNSF Railway-served industrial park is well-positioned along Interstate 55, according to Elion Partners, and just a few miles south of the interchange that services the busiest inland container yards in the U.S.
