New restaurant coming to Channahon from owner of Morris Chop Shop, Big Fish Grille

The owner of the Morris Chop Shop and the Big Fish Grille in Wilmington is set to open a new restaurant in Channahon.

John Mathias, the owner, will open Pesciolino Osteria, an Italian restaurant, toward the end of September. It will be located at 25445 South Pheasant Lane near the corner of Route 6 and Ridge Road.

Sara Heino, also of the Big Bash Restaurants & Catering Company, said he wants to keep some consistency between all the restaurants, yet this one will be a reasonably priced venue for any event dinner.

“He wants to give it like a tavern feel,” she said.

The menu will include handmade pasta, fresh baked bread, fresh seafood and in-house made mozzarella and desserts.

They will also have takeout available with a designated spot for patrons to pick up their food. Heino also said delivery might be in the restaurant’s future, but not yet when they open. They do not have a website up yet.

Big Fish Grille is located at 27425 South Will Road in Wilmington. Morris Chop Shop is at 701 North Liberty Street in Morris.

Big Bash Restaurants also has a full service catering company with mobile kitchen and Morris Chop Shop Steakhouse.
