WHEATON – The new Noah's Animal Hospital at Wheaton wants to be there when pet owners need them the most.
"We're going to focus on urgent and emergency care, so that someone who doesn't have an appointment can get in to take care of those issues," said Mike Thomas, the owner of Noah’s Animal Hospital at Wheaton, which recently opened at 414 S. Main Street in downtown Wheaton. "We'll be there for them if they have an urgent need."
Preventive care appointments, surgery, dentistry and illness appointments are also available. The building formerly housed the Animal Medical Center of Wheaton.
Thomas was mentored by Russ Chapin, who had owned the Animal Medical Center of Wheaton and practiced for 47 years.
"He was actually working at Lake Shore Animal Hospital when I first graduated from veterinary school," Thomas said. "He taught me how to do the things I was taught in school, how to put a catheter in and spay a dog and that sort of thing...We got to be friends, and we've been friends ever since."
This is Noah's first Illinois location. Along with the Wheaton location, it operates eight locations in central Indiana, including three emergency hospitals and two veterinary specialty centers.
Noah's Animal Hospital at Wheaton opened in April, with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony held on July 26. More information about Noah's Animal Hospital at Wheaton is available at www.animalhospitalwheaton.com or by calling 630-665-8700.
