GreenSeed Contract Packaging in Batavia names top leadership

BATAVIA – GreenSeed Contract Packaging in Batavia, serving the natural and healthy foods industry, has announced top leadership appointments.

David Gray has been named president and chief growth officer, a newly created position. Jeff Sawyers now assumes the role of chief operating officer. Both appointments support the company’s strategy to offer more agile creativity and what-if innovation to food manufacturers, stated a news release.

“These appointments lead the GreenSeed team into its next stage of growth as our business continues to expand in North America and internationally,” Don Reed, CEO of GreenSeed, stated in the release. “We will now be in a better position to anticipate the trending needs of our customers faster … . Both David and Jeff bring strong leadership skills and business acumen to GreenSeed and have been a proven asset to our team since we started the company.”

Gray, formerly GreenSeed’s executive vice president of sales and marketing, spent the majority of his career in private equity. Prior to becoming a founding partner in GreenSeed, Gray served as a director for San Francisco-based Greystone Capital.

Sawyers moved up the ranks at GreenSeed from vice president to executive vice president of operations prior to assuming his new position as COO. He spent more than two decades at Power Packaging.
