Beatus: I wanted to be special ed teacher. I taught for 23 years, but now I am program development coordinator for West Aurora [School] District 129.

Schory: What is an interesting factoid about yourself?
Beatus: My great-great grandfather was Ray Harroun, who won the first Indy 500 race in 1911. He created a rear-view mirror so he could see behind him. Before that, you had to have someone in the passenger seat to look behind and that weighed the car down. He won that race because he didn't have a passenger. He did not patent it.
