VOLO – The McHenry Outdoor Theater and Volo Auto Museum are revved up about Lightning McQueen’s return to the big screen.
On June 17, during the “Cars 3” opening weekend at the McHenry Outdoor Theater at Chapel Hill and Lincoln roads, those who also visited the Volo Auto Museum that day can present their museum admission ticket for free entry to the theater.
Regular theater ticket prices are $12 for adults, $6 for children ages 11 and younger, and $6 for seniors and military veterans.
“We’re inviting everyone to come to the museum for a photo op with Lightning McQueen’s co-star, Mater. They can get a free ‘autographed’ card from Mater,” said Brian Grams, director of the museum at 27582 Volo Village Road. “Plus, your museum ticket from that day gets you into the theater free that night to see ‘Cars 3.’ ”
McHenry Outdoor Theater owner Scott Dehn said the cross promotion is a great way for families to add value to their entertainment dollar.
“I am thrilled to continue the amazing relationship between our theater and the Volo Auto Museum as we team up and bring even more fun and excitement to the summer movie season,” he said.
The Volo Auto Museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. It features about 400 classic, muscle, Hollywood cars and more. Admission is $15 for adults, $9 for children ages 5 to 12 and free for children 4 and younger. For information, call 815-385-3644 or find Volo Auto Museum on Facebook.
