Man fatally stabbed in Bolingbrook

BOLINGBROOK - A Bolingbrook man has been charged with murder after his stepson was stabbed to death during a domestic argument Sunday.

The incident occurred at 1:37 p.m. in the 500 block of Jordan Way, according to Police Lt. Anthony Columbus. Columbus said a verbal argument escalated into a physical confrontation before Harold Robinson, 51, stabbed Corey L. Spradley, 23.

After police and firefighters responded, Spradley was hospitalized and died from his injuries Sunday evening in DuPage County, according to Columbus. Robinson resides at the Jordan Way address while Spradley did not.

Robinson was taken into custody without incident and initially charged with attempted murder. After Spradley died, the Will County State's Attorney's office filed two counts of first-degree murder against Robinson.

Judge Art Smiegelski on Monday set bond at $2 million for Robinson to be released from the Will County jail. According to court reports, Robinson was previously convicted of armed robbery and received a 20-year sentence.
