DUI arrest

Oswego police arrested Arturo Garrido, 30, no address given, on a charge of driving under the influence after stopping his vehicle on Route 30 near Goodwin Drive June 3 at 2:06 a.m.

Spray paint damage

Spray paint damage estimated at $100 was found at East View Elementary School on Route 71 June 5, according to Oswego police.

Retail theft arrest

Oswego police arrested Ricky Johnson, 48, of the 400 block of Montgomery Road, Aurora, on a charge of retail theft at a store in the 2300 block of Route 34 June 5 at 2:01 p.m. Police said the suspect attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise valued at $96.41.

One hurt in crash

An Oswego resident, Betty J. Gaddy, 57, of the 800 block of Georgetown Drive, was injured in a two vehicle crash on Douglas Road at Gerry Centennial Drive June 5 at 5:57 p.m., according to village police. The accident occurred when a vehicle driven by Scott F. Ogier, 40, of the 400 block of Camden Drive, turned in front of Gaddy's vehicle, which had the right-of-way, police said.

Cellphone theft

Oswego police are investigating the theft of a cellphone that was left by a Chicago man at a business in the 2300 block of Route 34 June 3 at 1:15 p.m.

One hurt in battery at store

Oswego police responded to a battery involving three adults at a store in the 2300 block of Route 34 June 4 at 10:20 p.m. Police said a 55 year-old Oswego resident was injured in the incident and transported to an area hospital. The other individuals involved in the incident, both ages 22, were not injured, according to police. Police said they are investigating.

FOID, cannabis arrest

Oswego police arrested Denzel T. Patterson, 23, of the 2000 block of Royal Lane Drive, Aurora, in the 200 block of Liszka Lane, Oswego, June 3 at 5:39 p.m. on charges of possession of firearms ammunition without a FOID (Firearm Owners Identification) card and possession of cannabis. Police said the suspect posted bond and was later released pending a court date next month.

Warrant arrest

Oswego police arrested Lamar D. Sanders, 34, of the 1600 block of Shamrock Court, Aurora, after stopping his vehicle June 4 at 2:23 a.m. on Madison Street near Wilson Place. Police said Sanders was arrested on an outstanding warrant and cited for driving on a suspended license.

Warrant arrest

Oswego police arrested Alva E. Halstead, 43, of the Yorkville at a store in the 2300 block of Route 34 June 4 at 10:22 p.m. Police said the suspect was wanted on a Kendall County warrant.

Fireworks damage

Someone lit fireworks on a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Pine Ridge Drive South sometime between June 2 and June 4, village police reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated in excess of $500.

Domestic battery charge

Oswego police arrested arrested Anthony Corral, 25, of the 400 block of Carriage Court, Oswego, on a charge of domestic battery on Prairieview Drive at Carriage Court June 4 at 5:28 a.m. Police said the suspect was detained pending a court appearance.

Domestic battery arrest

Oswego police arrested Jennett K. Atanga, 38, of the 600 block of Ironwood Avenue, Oswego, on a charge of domestic battery June 4 at 4:05 a.m. at her residence. Police said the suspect is scheduled to appear in court on the charge next month.

Vehicle found damaged

Oswego police took a report of criminal damage to a vehicle on Treasure Drive near Harvey Road June 3 at 5 a.m. Police said someone caused less than $500 in damage to the vehicle.

Car stolen

A 2007 blue Audi A6 sedan was stolen from a driveway in the 10-20 block of South Adams Street in Oswego June 4, village police reported. Police said the keys had been left in the car and the car was unlocked at the time of the theft.

Protection order violation

Oswego police arrested Lawrence N. Valenza, 55, of the 300 block of Chesterfield Court, Aurora, at the police station June 2 on a charge of violation of an order of protection. Police said the suspect is due to appear in court on the charge next month.

Reckless driver reported

A 35 year-old Oswego resident filed a reckless driving report with village police. Police said the victim told them that another motorist tried to drive her off the roadway and into oncoming traffic on three different occasions in the area of Minkler Road and Route 71 on June 1 at 6:15 a.m.

Hit and run reported

Oswego police took a report of a hit and run crash on Kensington Drive at Manchester Drive June 1 at 1:44 p.m. Police said an estimated $1,500 in damage was done to the victim's car.

Facing multiple charges

Oswego police arrested Maria F. Lopez-Rodriguez, 25, of the 400 block of Calico Drive, Aurora, May 31 at 8:15 p.m. in the 400 block of Grapevine Trail. Police said the suspect faces charges of domestic battery, battery, obstructing a peace officer and resisting a peace officer.

Golf carts found damaged

Oswegoland Park District officials notified Oswego police May 31 that three golf carts were found damaged at Fox Bend Golf Course in the 3800 block of Route 34 May 31. Police said the damage was estimated at $1,500.

OEHS hit and run

Oswego police are investigating a report of a hit and run crash that occurred in the parking lot at Oswego East High School May 31 at 7:10 p.m.

Store windows damaged

Someone caused an estimated $700 in damage to windows at a retail store in the 3400 block of Orchard Road, Oswego police were notified May 30.

Traffic violations

Anthony S. Olivo, 22, of the 900 block of Fairway, Naperville, aggravated speeding and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

Arden Wood, no age given, 200 block of Bluegrass Parkway, Oswego, driving while license suspended.

Ethan W. Root, 20, of Plano, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Kamari J. Neal, 20, of the 1400 block of Golden Oaks Parkway, speeding and driving while license suspended.
