CRYSTAL LAKE – Local residents have formed an "indivisible" political group in Crystal Lake.
Residents in the northern Illinois 6th, 8th and 14th U.S Congressional districts organized the Northwestern Illinois Indivisible group, which is one of thousands forming across the nation. The group’s goals are to peacefully resist President Donald Trump’s agenda and highlight the congressional members in the three local districts.
About 45 members of the group are working on initiatives that focus on topics such as the environment, health care, activism, social justice and diversity training. The group plans to host community meetings and events to bring awareness to local residents
“As a concerned citizen, it is my right to voice my objection to the current administration’s lack of understanding of how the government functions and its overreach of constitutional authority,” said group member Anne Neruda of Algonquin.
