Plano High School recently announced its students and staff of the month for February.
PHS staff nominated students for Student of the Month for the month of February. Students are nominated for PRIDE behavior (Personal Responsibility, Respect, Involved Academically, Demonstrates safe behavior, and Excellence in what they do).
Some reasons for nomination include constant respect to staff and students, mentoring other students, marked improvement in decision making and class participation, showing enthusiasm for activities, volunteering at events, showcasing model student behavior, going beyond expected requirements and helping other students feel at ease.
Students of the Month for February are Arianna Mendez, Christian Graham, McKenna Galloway, Jesus Herrera, Christian Hugunin, Ricardo Olague and Jermaine Boyd.
Students and administration nominated staff members for Staff Member of the Month for February.
Reasons for nomination include going beyond helping students, going the extra mile in seeing our students succeed, cleanliness of building, diligence, creating color-coded passes for student management, flexibility, supervising test makeups, seeing the positive qualities in students and handling situations in a difficult environment.
Staff Members of the Month for February are Carol Pillsbury, Linda Oleson, Susan Webb, Bibiana Baldwin, Custodial Staff, Deb Chatman and Ben Sperry.
Students and staff members received a certificate and a breakfast in their honor.
The staff and student of the month process is coordinated by Kate Collingbourne, social worker with Student Services at Plano High School.
This process is part of the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) in place at Plano High School.
