Algonquin trustees hear plans for Dunkin' Donuts on West Algonquin Road

ALGONQUIN – Construction on a new Dunkin' Donuts in Algonquin could start as early as this spring.

The Algonquin Committee of the Whole heard plans Tuesday for the doughnut and coffee shop, which would include a drive-thru and indoor and outdoor seating spaces at 4029 W. Algonquin Road.

The 1.8-acre lot currently is vacant, and the new building would be about 2,000 square feet, according to village documents.

“This is a great project; they have a really good site plan,” Algonquin Community Development Director Russell Farnum said.

Brown-toned face brick will be the main building material, and the base of the building will have brown-toned stone, according to initial plans.

There will be 18 parking spaces, which is short of meeting code requirements but sufficient, as most customers are expected to use the drive-thru, according to village documents.

The hours of the business would be from 4 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

The project will come before the Algonquin Village Board at its next meeting, 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at Ganek Municipal Center, 2200 Harnish Drive.

Another Dunkin’ Donuts recently opened in the village on East Algonquin Road.
