PRINCETON — Jose Arteaga, 36, of Princeton was sentenced by Associate Judge C.J. Hollerich on Sept. 8 to seven and one-half years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to the Class 2 felony of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (heroin). He was also ordered to pay $2,092 in fines, fees and costs.
He was given credit for 198 days served in the Bureau County Jail since his arrest on Feb. 23 for selling less than one gram of heroin for $40 to a paid informant working with the TRIDENT Drug Task Force on Oct. 29, 2015.
The informant had a camera on her, and the transaction was video recorded.
