PRINCETON — Jerry Russell Poff, 65, of Princeton passed away Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, in his home.
He was born Sept. 13, 1950, in Spring Valley to Russell Poff and Leatha Wabel Van Herzeele.
He was a Princeton High School class of 1969 graduate. He had worked for Monier Farms for many years. He had served in the Illinois National Guard and the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by: his father, Russell Poff of Washington, Ill.; his children, Sara (Steve) Sloan of Sublette, Brian (Beth) Poff of Alabama and Amanda Poff of Tiskilwa; nine grandchildren; and his siblings, Judy (Roy) Van Opdorp of Atkinson, Kelly (Danny) Callison of Geneseo, Randy (Pam) Poff of Atkinson and Tammy Graham of Waverly, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his mother and his wife, Rebecca Poff.
Services will be at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, in the chapel of the Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home, Princeton, with military honors by the Princeton Veterans Memorial Group. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Kewanee, at a later date. Visitation will be Monday from 2 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
