STERLING – A Rock Falls woman is in Whiteside County Jail after police say she pinned a relative between her Jeep and the relative’s vehicle, then assaulted the relative’s passenger Sunday evening at Dairy Queen.
According to a news release from the Sterling Police Department, Megan B. Boss, 39, had a phone conversation with the relative, drove to Dairy Queen, 1203 W. Fourth St., and struck the person with her 2013 Jeep, pinning her. She then got out of her vehicle and began hitting a second victim before being pulled away, returning to her Jeep and leaving the scene.
Sterling Police Sgt. Sarah Schmidt confirmed the incident took place in the “general vicinity” of Dairy Queen, but said because the investigation is ongoing, further details would not be made available until Wednesday, when the investigating sergeant, Brian Schmidt (no relation), will be on shift.
Boss is charged with reckless driving, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, domestic battery and two counts of aggravated battery.
Both victims were treated at CGH Medical Center for injuries that weren’t life-threatening. Boss was arrested near her home and taken to jail. Her bond will be set today.
