Joliet rapper dies after being shot in the back in Chicago

CHICAGO – A Joliet man and aspiring rapper was shot to death over the weekend in Chicago.

Brandon J. Nolls, 24, of the 1100 block of Summit Street in Joliet, was pronounced dead at 10:38 p.m. Friday at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. The cause and manner of death was determined to be a homicidal gunshot wound to the back.

Chicago Police Department Officer Thomas Sweeney said law enforcement responded about 9 p.m. Friday to the 1000 block of North Harding Avenue, where they found Nolls, who had been shot in the back and shoulder, and transported him to Sinai.

Nolls also went by the names Skoonie and PG12.

Sweeney said detectives are investigating Nolls' death, but no one is in custody in connection with the shooting.
