LYONS – A man faces two charges of first-degree murder after allegedly stabbing two of his neighbors at the Riverwalk Senior Residences in Lyons, according to a news release from village of Lyons spokesman Ray Hanania.
John Arnold, 67, is accused of murdering David Bosseler, 73, and a 61-year-old woman in the early morning hours of April 24, the release stated. Arnold allegedly waited outside Bosseler’s apartment until the door opened and then lunged into the apartment, where he allegedly attacked both victims with a large knife, according to the release. The victims received multiple stab wounds, causing their deaths.
Lyons police and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force conducted a joint investigation of the incident, the release stated.
Police said Arnold knew both victims, as they all lived in the senior residences at 8019 Ogden Ave. The victims reportedly got into an argument with Arnold over the weekend about missing property, according to the release. Arnold told police Bosseler had taken the property.
The victims were discovered the afternoon of April 25 during an ambulance well-being check, the release stated.
