WARRENVILLE – The archery range at Blackwell Forest Preserve in Warrenville will close May 9 for about two weeks for improvements in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The archery range, which has beginner, advanced and interactive areas, features bow racks, quivers and targets with distances of 20 to 60 yards, the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County news release stated.
As part of the improvements, the turf surface in the beginner range and a 20-foot section of the interactive range will be replaced with decomposed granite paving, a permeable material commonly used for pathways. Accessible work tables and bleachers also will be installed in the area.
Work is expected to take about two weeks, weather permitting.
“These improvements will provide better access for more visitors to our very popular Blackwell archery range,” Forest Preserve District of DuPage County President Joe Cantore said in the release.
