Make facial acne and sun damage a thing of the past with a Jessner Peel.
Made up of salicylic acid, lactic acid and resorcinol, the peel is ideal for individuals who battle comedogenic and inflammatory acne, hyperpigmentation, actinic keratosis, general hyperkeratosis, and chronic and photoaging.
The results? A more even skin tone, reduction in the appearance of scars and acne marks, and a more youthful appearance.
What can clients expect during the spa treatment?
First, the skin is cleansed to remove dirt and oil and a prep solution is applied. Next, layers of the peel solution are applied.
“We wait the designated time between each layer and look for indications to stop layering, such as a frost or hot spots,” said Kathe Malinowski, lead esthetician and marketing manager for Eterna MedSpa & Laser Vein Center.
Clients are given a battery-operated fan to use during the procedure to help with the stinging.
The peel is then neutralized and a lipid barrier cream and SPF are applied.
“The client then is told not to do anything else to their skin for the rest of the day,” Malinowski said.
Skin may appear red and feel tingly following the peel.
“The day after skin will feel a little tight and a little itchy because the skin is going to start peeling off the dead layers of skin,” Malinowski said.
Skin will likely continue to flake for the next couple of days.
Other than that, a Jessner peel has little downtime.
