Joliet area students win DAR Good Citizen Awards

JOLIET – On Feb. 6, the Louis Joliet Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution presented the DAR Youth Citizenship Award to eight outstanding area students.

This year’s recipients were:

• Daniel Dombrowski, St. Dennis Catholic School, Lockport

• Aldo Guerra, Chaney-Monge School, Crest Hill

• Allison Hullinger, Liberty Junior High, New Lenox

• Kelsie Paige Kasky, St. Jude School, Joliet

• Annaliese Kunst, Taft School, Lockport

• Owen Perry, Richard Ira Jones Middle School, Plainfield

• Anna Piskur, Hufford Junior High, Joliet

• Anne Serdar, St. Paul the Apostle School, Joliet

Cadets receiving the JROTC Youth Good Citizenship Award were:

• Matthew Deavers, Lincoln-Way West High School, New Lenox

• Ryan Holl, Lincoln-Way Central High School, New Lenox

The DAR Good Citizen Award, presented annually to an outstanding high school senior, was presented to Mariah Guzman, Joliet West High School, Joliet. Guzman received a certificate, pin and check for $50. Her essay will be entered into the next level of DAR Good Citizen competition.
