Brake Parts in McHenry donates $175,000 to local United Way

McHENRY – Employees at Brake Parts in McHenry recently raised more than $175,000 to support the United Way of Greater McHenry County during the company’s annual fourth-quarter fundraising campaign.

The total exceeded the company’s fundraising total from last year, President and CEO David Overbeeke said in a news release. Brakes Parts also matched employees’ donations through special projects, such as silent auctions, raffles, special lunch sales and “Jeans Month” where employees were paid to wear jeans to work.

“I can’t say enough about our employees and how proud I am that they rose to this year’s challenge and not only matched last year’s donation, but greatly exceeded it,” Overbeeke said. “This donation allows us to give back to the community to help better the lives of residents who depend on the United Way for assistance.”
